Well, I’m still on the wagon… although I will admit I came thisclose to opening a bottle of wine the day Frankie passed away. I’m glad I stuck with it though.
I’m almost halfway through the month, and most days I don’t even think about drinking. It’s just become normal to me that I don’t.
Highlights:
- Sleeping even better! According to my Fitbit, my average sleep score for the past week is 87, compared to 83 before I started this experiment. Now, I don’t know exactly what this means, because I haven’t paid for Fitbit premium… but it seems like a good thing.
- My resting heart rate is down more, to 63! Last week it was 68, and the week before that it was 69.
- I lost 2 more pounds, for a total of 7 over the last 2 weeks. It wasn’t the main intention of Dryuary, but hey I’ll take it.

Wow! That’s great. I notice it’s an easy way to loose weight for me as well. I’m not drinking all those extra calories. Although I do crave something sweet after dinner.
I hadn’t been craving sweet things until last night when I ate nearly an entire container of So Delicious Cocowhip :/
Drinking add so many calories! You mentioned eating more because you are drinking, but I remember calorie counting and being shocked how many calories are in drinks. I remember reading some scientific article about why your brain has a hard time taking in consideration calories from liquids rather than solids. Can’t remember the reason though lol. It is also one of the reasons why they said women will loose weight in the first trimester when getting pregnant. Sure you could be nauseous, but some people will cut a bunch of calories each day by not drinking.
It’s crazy how many calories are in booze!
Congrats! That’s awesome! I definitely notice my heart rate and sleep score are drastically better on the days I don’t drink. 🙂 It’s crazy how that affects sleep! And I’m just catching up on older posts, and I am sooooo sorry about Frankie. It’s so hard to lose a pet/child. And especially without drinking. The day Pandora (our kitty) died in December, I had a number of drinks after. 🙁
Thank you 🙁 It’s so damn hard isn’t it?
